This is another classic recipe in that my kids love! Spaghetti and meat sauce is something I grew up on too and yet I am always looking at ways to pump up it’s nutritional value. This recipe might seem normal but as you read you might also find a tip or too for pumping up the nutritional value of this classic. So for this recipe I do the following:
Cook off 1 box of Jovial Brand Gluten Free Spaghetti
Brown grass fed ground meat in my saucepan. I normally used beef but you can add ground liver, ground heart or ground pork. To the meat I add a sprinkle of garlic powder, onion powder, organic kelp granuals, and some salt. I also add in some chopped greens, whatever I have on hand, such as parsley, beet greens or spinach. While this is cooking, I take either my homemade tomato sauce or a store bought one such as Organico Bello and I actually blend it with an immersion blender to smooth out any tomato peels or chunks. Once the meat is cooked, I add the pureed sauce and heat.
Once the sauce is hot, I pour it over my pasta in a big bowl. I add a drizzle of olive oil and a hunk of beautiful yellow butter (this makes the dish almost creamy in texture and flavor.) I give this all a mix and then we serve it up and devour. This meal hits the spot on cooler evenings after big adventurous days!
