I loved reading the book Eat Dirt by Dr. Axe. Eat Dirt is a fascinating and manageable read about the root of many of our health problems. According to Dr. Axe, many of our health problems begin in our gut and that healing our gut can health so many of our health issues and concerns. He combines science, stories, and recommendations to give the reader an understanding of what is going on, a hope that it can be improved, and tools that one can use to get better.
Dr. Axe’s tools to improve your health are not overly complicated or restrictive. Many diet protocols are stressful to follow but he gives diet and lifestyle suggestions that are relatively simple and stress free. He includes recipes and meal suggestions as well as ways to incorporate essential oils and safer cleaning solutions. He goes into the why behind his suggestions, but he doesn’t go so deep that it is laborious to read. He gives just enough information to make me a believer and to prompt me to implement his solutions. I do not have to be a scientist to comprehend his book, and yet there is enough science in it that I trust his recommendations.
I would recommend this book to anyone seeking wellness or to anyone seeking a potential different view regarding how to manage their health condition or the condition of a loved one. Many times we feel that our health concerns or our children’s health concerns are going to be lifelong and unresolved. This book offers a fresh perspective with actionable options. It not only gives us a path to improve our personal health and wellbeing, it also gives us hope that in helping ourselves we are helping other and the earth.
