We are audio book lovers! I love listening to podcasts and books anytime I am in the car or out walking. My kids devour audio books while they are doing art, legos, or other otherwise quiet activities. We read paper books as well, but by incorporating audio books in our lives, we are able to read double, if not triple, the number of books that we might otherwise enjoy.
I have always loved that we love the audio, but I was concerned that so many hours of audio books would increase the amount of time that we were exposed to EMF’s (electromagnetic frequency) from our phones and tablets. So I found a quick, easy tip to mitigate our EMF exposure, decrease interruptions, and enjoy a great audiobook… it is the airplane mode function on your device. Whenever we are on a device and we don’t need the internet or the cell connection, we put our device on airplane mode. We will download the book or the podcast or the music and once the download is complete, we will switch to airplane mode and enjoy listening.
I find that when our devices are in airplane mode, I feel less hectic and my kids seem to have less erratic activity compared to when we are on connected devices. I attribute it to the decrease in EMF exposure. When I looked into the connection between EMF’s and child behavior I found that they may be connected. According to DefenderShield.com, “Children are more susceptible to the negative effects of EMF because it more easily saturates their developing tissues, so Airplane Mode is key when your child uses a phone or tablet. Plus, it will keep them from making accidental calls or app purchases.”
According to another article on the Weston Price Foundation website, “…saw an overlap between autism and EMR (electromagnetic radiation) exposure. Scientists get curious with an overlap of just one biological dysfunction. I saw an overlap of fifty, including genetic alterations, retinal optic damage, increased inflammatory reactions, immune shifts, geno toxicity, increased oxidative stress, altered fetal development and increased auto-immune risks. The list goes on—which tells us that more research is warranted.” The article goes on to describe numerous testimonials of families who saw differences in their child’s behavior when they mitigated the EMR exposure.
And the list goes on. If you start looking into electromagnetic radiation / frequency, and the effect that it has on our bodies, you too may find the Airplane Mode setting as useful as we do. So for a quick easy tip that as far as I have found is risk free… find your airplane mode setting and try using it.
