One of the easiest ways that we freshen up our house during the long, cold winter months is by having live plants in as many rooms of our house as possible. If you don’t already have plants in your house, you might reconsider.
Many houseplants are very inexpensive. If you don’t want to purchase one, you can start some from seed. All you need is some dirt, some seeds, and a bowl or planting container. Many houseplants do not need as much sunlight as you think. Many plants labeled, low light, don’t need to be in bright shining sun all day. They are fine being near a window, but not in direct light.
Plants help keep your indoor air clean. This includes decreasing toxins in your air and it may even included decreasing the amount of cold and flu particles in your air. They can decrease the amount of toxins in your air. They can provide healing, soothing, joyful plant energy to your home. For all of you who are working at home or have kids doing their schoolwork at home, you might like to know that plants can even improve concentration and attention. They may even help with productivity. They increase the amount of oxygen in your air. They have been reported to boost our mood and improve how we get long with others. And then some… the benefits of indoor plants are endless and there are very few downsides. Of course if you have an allergy to a plant or a child or pet that might put the plant in their mouth than you might want to be careful choosing your type or plant and placement of it in your house, but other than that, there are very few reasons why someone might choose not to have a plant.
